Hello KES Families!

Happy summer!! Hopefully you are all enjoying the sunshine and quality time together. I hope our KES students have found some of the summer learning activities to be fun and engaging. Completed activity menus can be brought back to school on the night of the ice cream social or during the first week of school to exchange for prizes. 

It’s almost time to head back to school! I want to share some dates and information that will be helpful to you as you plan ahead. 

Placement information/class lists will be available through Infinite Campus on Wednesday August 16th after 4:00pm.
 

August 15, 2023 10:00am Kindergarten Orientation (KES Hornet Hall)

• Informational meeting for students and parents.

• School bus ride for the students

• Building tour

August 15, 2023 11:00am New student (grades 1-5) Orientation (KES Hornet Hall)

• Informational meeting for students and parents

• Building tour

August 16, 2023 5:00-7:00pm - Open House and PTA Ice Cream Social 

• Ice cream for our students will be generously donated by The Kirtland Creamery! All other family members can purchase ice cream for $1.00/serving (please bring cash).

• We will have lots of other community representation! 

  • Kirtland Police Department and Kirtland Fire Department

  • Kirtland Academic Boosters

  • Kirtland Football Moms

  • Kirtland High School Marching Band

  • Kirtland Public Library

• Students (grades 1-5) can bring their supplies in and drop them off in the classrooms

• Students who have completed the Summer Activity Menu can bring it to the KES conference room and claim your prize from Mrs. Bonacci! 

August 17, 2023 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL (1st-5th grades)
 
 August 17, 18 and 21 - Incoming Kindergarten screening days (by appointment - sign up here ) . We will share the specific start date for your child at this time. 
 
 August 23  First full day for half of our Kindergarteners  
 August 24  First full day for half of our Kindergarteners 
 August 25  First full day of school for all Kindergarteners

Please note…the following dates are Professional Development Days for KES teachers so there will be no school for KES on:
 September 22, 2023
 October 27, 2023
 March 11, 2024

Ms. Rachel Moran will be taking over as Latchkey Supervisor. We are still looking for a Latchkey Assistant. The cost for latchkey this year is $4.75/hour.
