KES Update - January 8, 2024

Happy New Year KES! I hope you all enjoyed a restful winter break. It was wonderful to welcome our Hornets back last week. They bring such joy and enthusiasm to the building. Looking forward to a full week of learning and fun ahead. A reminder to ask your child(ren) to check the lost and found. It is growing by the day! Lots of valuable items that should be claimed.

The Kirtland Area Service Council would like to thank the KES staff and families for the generous contributions to the food drive. Many Kirtland families received food thanks to the efforts of all. Thank you to our KES Student Council for leading this charge!

A Message from Mrs. Filla

This month we encourage students and family to participate in January's Wellness Challenge: A Happier January! All you have to do is complete activities from this month's Action for Happiness Calendar that can be found here. Those who participate and complete this form are eligible to win great prizes!

Drop off and Pick up - Car riders

The drop off and pickup line for car riders is growing. We are thankful to have parents who enjoy driving students to and from school, but we really need your help in order to ensure safety.

Please keep these things in mind:

  • Stay in your car and move through the line.
  • Pull all the way up to where the staff member is standing (near the high school).
  • Adjust car seats/boosters so that your child can get in the car from the passenger side.
  • Never allow your child to cross traffic when getting in or out of the car.

We are happy to help anyone who needs it! We just want to make sure that the line moves quickly and that everyone stays safe.

Thanks!

A couple of reminders from the KES office...
  • Please be sure that your child knows how he/she is getting home each day. Be sure to indicate it on the calendar in the take-home folder as well.
  • For dismissal changes, contact the KES office before 2:00 so that we can adjust our lists and let the teachers know.
  • Please use this link to access the AHERA notice from the district
