KMS UPDATE October 9, 2023

KMS Parents and Students,

What a great start to the month of October! Thank you to all the parents that were able to attend our conferences even though there were a lot of extracurricular events that were taking place. November 10th, will be our next all day conference date. Also, congratulations to our 8th grade choir students and Ms. Bobbitt on a successful fall concert. Kiwanis Student of the Month for October

Congratulations to Ben Trem our KMS Kiwanis Student of the Month. Each month we send out a survey requesting teacher input on students that exemplify our three pillars of a Kirtland Hornet. This month Ben did not only receive one or two recommendations, but Ben received three. Ben's teachers wrote, "Ben is a very polite and hardworking young man. He takes school very seriously, is a leader in the classroom and knows how to have fun. Ben is a well rounded student that is a pleasure to have in my class." "Ben is a kind, caring, respectful, and helpful student. He remains on-task and engaged in every lesson, asks wonderful questions, and volunteers responses. Ben strives to do his best work each day and sets an amazing example for his peers!" Congrats, Ben!

Kirtland Middle School - Important Dates 2023-2024

The link provided will take you the Kirtland Middle School - Important Dates for the 23-24 school year. There are still a few things that need to be added at the end of the school year, but they will be updated in the next couple of days. My goal for the year is to be as transparent as possible to major events taking place down the road at the school. I will continue to add to the important date section of the newsletter for upcoming events, but if you are wanting to plan for things, please refer to this document.

Lost and Not Yet Found Items

The lost and found area is quickly starting to fill up again. Please remind your son or daughter to check the area in the office, if they are missing lunch boxes, water bottles, and hoodies. There is a lot of really nice stuff that needs to find its way back to it's owner.
